Our Services
SERVE NY is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting U.S. military veterans living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and related service-connected challenges as they work toward recovery, stability, and reintegration into civilian life.
We provide trauma-informed, community-based support services that address the interconnected barriers veterans with PTSD often face, including difficulty accessing entitled benefits, housing instability, unemployment, and social isolation. Our team helps veterans navigate complex systems, connect to critical resources, and access the services and supports they have earned through their service.
Our work is grounded in whole-person recovery. In addition to benefits navigation, housing referrals, and workforce and job-readiness support, SERVE NY offers art-based therapeutic and educational programming as a voluntary tool for healing and emotional expression. Creative workshops provide veterans with PTSD a non-clinical, accessible outlet to process trauma, reduce stress, build coping skills, and reconnect with peers in a supportive environment. No prior artistic experience is required.
Art is used as a therapeutic and engagement tool, not as a commercial activity. Veterans retain ownership of their work, and participation in any community showcase or optional sharing of artwork is entirely voluntary and incidental to the organization’s charitable mission.
SERVE NY operates from a foundation of dignity, choice, and respect. We believe veterans living with PTSD deserve coordinated support, clear pathways to stability, and spaces where healing, connection, and purpose are possible. Through recovery services, advocacy, creative engagement, and community partnership, we work to ensure veterans are not left to navigate recovery alone.
